Page One is proud to Announce
We Now Have the Cure For Your Gaming-Related Ailments!

Munchkin (And All it's Munchkinly Cohorts!)- Kill the monsters, steal the treasure, stab your buddies! Okay, I first discovered this game completely by accident about 5 years ago. Its genius is in its simplicity, humor, and wide appeal. With 13 different versions (all the rules are just about the same), there's definitely a genre for everyone. Twi-Hards will love Munchkin Bites. Lovecraftians will join a cult over Munchkin Cthulhu. Like the Avengers? Try Super Munchkin. Or combine several different sets and battle Pirate Zombie Cowboys from outer space during the Apocalypse! Run for your life...And have fun doing it!

Settlers of Catan-This game has won, oh I don't know, every game award that has ever been invented...EVER. And with good cause. This game is fantastically addictive and simple enough that even younger kiddos can play (and probably beat the pants off of you more often than not...it's like 10 year old's brains are hard wired for agricultural commerce strategies or something...but I digress). With several different expansion packs, this is the game that keeps on growing.

FLUXX-Having trouble remembering all those pesky rules to various card games? Well, help has arrived. In Fluxx, the rules are always changing, so you never have to remember them for long. This fast paced card game is family friendly and a sure party hit when everyone has had a bit too much of...whatever they were drinking and therefore can't remember where they put their jacket, let alone rules to a card game. So cheers everyone!

Betrayal at House on the Hill-This is arguably one of my favorite games...ever. Seriously, it is that fun! You and your buddies explore a house on a gameboard you build as you go along until one of you triggers “the haunt.” (Did you really think it was a good idea to pick up an axe in the Pentagram Chamber in the basement?) At this point, one of you turns traitor and it becomes a dangerous race of terror and insanity. Bonus points if the traitor is really good at creeping you out when he/she reads cards or events out of the Traitor's Tome. With 50 different scenarios included, this game provides countless hours of entertainment and has a HUGE re-playability factor! Not to be missed!

Cutthroat Caverns-So if know how to play RPGs, throw out everything you know when you play this game. In Cutthroat Caverns, you and your party have found a relic of ultimate power and you are trying to get out of the caverns alive. (Isn't that always the case? You'd think finding a relic of ultimate power would make everything better!) You are your friends will have to face 9 different monsters on the way out. The catch with this game is that everyone decides how much damage they will (or will not) do per turn. Only the killing blow counts, but hold back or sabotage your friends too much and everyone dies. (That's right, a game where there can be no winner!) A fantastic blend of strategy, teamwork, and light-hearted backstabbing makes for a very funny (and often very deadly) game.

Risk Godstorm-So everyone knows about Risk, the classic game of global domination. Well, now think about what Risk would have been like in 400 B.C.E. Start with a game board looks a little different from the original, including only Europe, Asia minor, northern Africa and Atlantis...that's right, I said Atlantis. Now throw in four vengeful gods that don't just look down on their worshipers, but leave their respected pantheons and actually join the battle. Add devastating cards (earned through completing said gods' labors) that can change the board in an instant. (My favorite is the Death card that Sinks Atlantis...that's right...wipes it right off the game board!) Oh, and if you die on earth, don't fret. Your soul can fight in the underworld with the hope of being resurrected and brought back to the battle, if the gods are pleased. The basic game play mechanics are the same, but the experience is totally new. If you are a fan of the original (Or mythology in general), get ready to join the storm. (Just make sure Zeus is on your good side first!)

Mansions of Madness-Let me just start by saying, “DON'T look at the price tag!” Why did you look? I told you not too. Okay, well, since that's out of the way, now we can talk about why this game is so amazing and why it's worth every penny. Moving through a mansion, looking for clues, collecting weapons, killing Lovecraftian beasties, all the while trying to maintain your sanity. I can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday night. With 5 different scenarios that can be played over and over in a myriad of decision combinations, this game is really like 15 games in one (Hence the price tag!) And, if you should crave some new Cthulhu adventures, there are several neat-o expansions that Josue would love to order for you!

If you have any questions (preferably about gaming...but hey, I'm not picky), feel free to ask for me at customer service or e-mail josue@page1book.com. Or you can bother any of my gaming minions: Jen, Electra, Ian, or Liz. Just make sure to have a tasty snack with you. I keep them locked up in the wolf closet in my absence and they tend to get a little bite-y when they're hungry.
